Auctioneer’s Note: After many years of dedication and commitment to the agriculture community Hamrick Brothers Inc. have decided it’s time to transition. Owners Max Hamrick and Sammy Thompson have dedicated their lives to agriculture since 1971 and have had a forever and lasting impact on the farm families in and around Cleveland County. They operated as one of the largest row crop operations in the county, farming 1500 acres of cotton, wheat, and soybeans. Not only did they produce cotton, they also operated a cotton gin. For the farmers in and around surrounding counties, Hamrick Brothers provided a custom fertilizer and lime-spreading business. As another service they operated a grain elevator marketing various commodities for other farmers.
It comes as no surprise that Hamrick Brothers Inc. has always set the standard for large-scale farming in Western NC and are considered to be visionaries within the farming community. Being in attendance on the date of sale will be considered an honor and a privilege as this will mark a special date in the history of NC agriculture.
