Directions: Being in Clinton, NC jct. of ByPass 701 & 421, take Hwy. 421 south approximately 2 miles, sale on right @ George P. Upton Sales Arena. Note: this is approximately 1 mile after the 4-lanes end. When you see road sign pointing to left let up on the foot feed, arena is on right.

FRED RHODES –PINK HILL, NC
Selling (24) 2nd calf heifers Angus & Angus Simmental X consisting of (19) Black & BWF & (5) Smokes, bred to Angus bull, OT3 son, due to start calving middle September, this group of heifers are all ’05 models, EID, Fred purchased this group of bred heifers from E. B. & Shane, calved them for the first time in ’07, cattle have a lot of longevity bred in their genes, (24) cows ½ Senepol consisting of (14) Black, (5) Smokes & White, & (5) Red, large frame cows, approx. 1500#, all bred to Angus bull, due to start calving middle September, (25) cows consisting of Angus, Angus X & South Devon, 8 are Smokes, 15 Black, 1 Red, 1 Speckled, 6 South Devon that Fred purchased from Ralph Edwards of Franklinton, NC, 8 of the Smokes were purchased from Morvan Farms – northern VA., weigh approx. 1400#, all bred to Angus bull, due to start calving September. Also selling 5-year old registered Angus bull sired by OT3, a graduate of the Forage Test program & sale – Clinton, NC, used successfully in the Rhodes Herd.
ROBIN RHODES & TIM SMITH – PINK HILL, NC
Selling (23) Black & BWF cows, coming w/4th calf January & February, 9 of these are purebred Angus purchased as heifers from Vandemark Angus – Spring Hope,NC & 14 purchased from our sale as heifers from Murphy Farms in Clinton,NC, bred to Angus bull, average weight 1100#, also selling registered Angus bull raised by Roger Lane – Gates, NC, ’04 model, sired by LLF GA Chisel 791, some of these cows could sell as 3-n-1 as there are 2 young calves @ side @ press time, also approx. (21) approx. 500# calves selling separate, these calves will be vaccinated, dewormed & ready to be turned on grass.
RICHARD BENDER – RIDGEWAY. NC
Selling (39) purebred commercial Angus cows (William Brauer bloodline), consisting of (11) cow/calf pairs (some of these 3-n-1), (28) fall & winter calvers, bred to registered Angus bull, all home raised, average 1350#, cows vary in ages – the very youngest being 1st & 2nd calvers, also selling 4-year old registered Angus Performance Tested bull – Smith Creek bloodline. In ’06 Richard sold (13) 8 ½ month old steer calves from these cows that brought him $9600.00 & ’05 (13) steers from same set of cattle brought $10,000.00 – plain to see these cows are getting the job done.
TIM WILLIAMS – ROCKY MOUNT, NC
Selling (40) Angus & Angus X cows consisting of (38) Blacks & (2) BWF, bred to Simm Angus bull & Bobby Myrick Gelbvieh bull, due to start calving 17th December, all home raised by Tim & his daddy, most of this group of cattle are ’02 models, a few 2nd calvers & a few mature cows, this is a set of cattle that Tim said are maintenance free.

This is a complete dispersal of the Rhodes cattle. We will be on their farm in November to have a farm & cattle equipment auction. The Bender & Williams herds are complete dispersals of 1 of their herds. They will continue in the cattle business with their other herds.
